Donkeys, Ashes & Lent

Join Tabz (David Taberner), Hettie and Emily as they bring us another KS1/KS2 video assembly / collective worship, this time on the theme of recommitting ourselves to our goals. In this session we get to terms with all things Lent, including the symbolism of Ash Wednesday at the start of Lent and Palm Sunday towards the end. We take these ideas to help us think about second chances and having another go at keeping the promises we’ve made to ourselves and others.

Safe Space is a project of Southport & Area Schools Worker Trust, creating a safe space to explore the big issues of life and faith in local schools.

Learning Objectives:

  • To widen understanding of the Christian faith and how the Christian calendar relates to Biblical events.
  • To implement widened understanding through observing our own needs to recommit to our goals or promises to ourselves and others.
  • To see an impact in how children can become kinder to themselves when things don’t always go to plan and mistakes are made.
